Denville NJ law enforcement is investigating a recent car accident on Route 46 that resulted in four people suffering injuries.
The car crash occurred near the intersection of Route 46 and Crestview Road in Denville, New Jersey. According to officials, a 29-year-old Wharton NJ woman was traveling westbound on the highway around 7:51 p.m. when she crossed over the double yellow lines in the center of the road and entered the eastbound side of the highway.
Although some motorists in oncoming traffic were able to avoid colliding with the Wharton woman’s vehicle, a 17-year-old Lincoln Park resident could not steer clear.
The resulting impact from the two-car collision caused serious injuries to both drivers, as well as two teenage passengers in the second motor vehicle. All of the auto accident victims were transported to local hospitals so that doctors could treat them for their injuries.
Detectives with the Denville Police Department investigated the car accident and ultimately decided to issue traffic citations to the Wharton woman for reckless driving and failure to maintain lane.
Additionally, police issued a traffic ticket to the teen driver because he allegedly violated the passenger limit for a motorist with a provisional license.
