Morris Township police are looking into a report of a luring incident at a bus stop on Woodland Avenue and Bennington Road.
According to police, a 14-year-old female student at Morristown High School was standing at the bus stop when a jeep parked across the street. The student told police that a man exited the passenger side of the vehicle and began to approach her.
Before the man reached the teen, she ran toward her home, which was a short distance from the bus stop. As she began to run, the teen heard the man shout something at her in a Spanish accent. The teen later told police that she was frightened at the time.
Things went from bad to worse when the teen arrived at the front door of her house because the man followed her home. Thankfully, the man fled the scene when the teen walked inside her house.
The girl described the man as having short dark hair. She also told police that he was wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt.
Morris Township police are investigating the incident. They have asked that anyone with information about the incident contact them at 973-539-0777.
