Police are looking for a person who broke into a 76-year-old woman’s home in Parsippany NJ earlier this month.
According to authorities, the victim returned to her house to discover that she was missing jewelry and $250 in cash.
Police officers responded to the scene and found that there were no signs of forced entry. The officers saw that several rooms in the house had been looted, with parts of a broken jewelry box scattered throughout one of the rooms.
In New Jersey, burglary is codified in N.J.S.A. 2C:18-2. In accordance with the statute, prosecutors usually charge burglary as a third degree criminal offense. In this case, if the suspect is caught and convicted, he or she could face up to five (5) years in NJ State Prison.
