A Parsippany man was cited for traffic violations after he allegedly crashed into a sanitation worker.
The auto accident occurred at 11:31 a.m. The suspect is an 88-year-old resident of Parsippany, New Jersey. According to authorities, he was behind the wheel of a 1999 Toyota Camry and traveling on Lake Shore Drive when he approached the intersection with Marcella Road and struck a Parsippany garbage truck.
The victim, a 63-year-old worker with the Parsippany Department of Sanitation, was walking back to the garbage truck when he was allegedly hit by the suspect’s motor vehicle.
Afterwards, emergency medical responders rushed to the scene and briefly treated the victim for his injuries. The victim was then transported to Morristown Medical Center, where doctors treated him for hip pain.
Meanwhile, the Parsippany Police Department investigated the accident and decided to issue traffic citations to the suspect for careless driving.
