Parsippany police arrested a woman after she allegedly assaulted another woman with a beer bottle.
According to police, an argument at the Main Event Bar in Lake Hiawatha turned violent when the suspect grabbed a glass beer bottle and hit the victim in the face. The attack reportedly took place in the bar’s parking lot.
Police received a phone call about a “disturbance” in the bar parking lot. When officers arrived at the scene, they found the suspect embroiled in a heated confrontation with the 38-year-old victim. The officers quickly separated the two women and investigated the incident.
Police interviewed several bar patrons and determined that the fight was instigated by the suspect.
The victim, who hails from Rockaway Township, was treated for injuries at the scene. According to authorities, the victim’s injuries included an eye injury and an eyebrow laceration.
Police placed the suspect under arrest and took her to police headquarters. According to police, the suspect refused medical attention.
The 48-year-old suspect, a Parsippany resident, has been charged with second degree aggravated assault and third degree possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose.
After being charged, the suspect was taken to the Morris County Correctional Facility in Morristown, where she will await a court appearance. Her bail has been set at $25,000.
