A New York woman was recently arrested and charged with promoting prostitution in Madison, New Jersey.
The suspect is a 47-year-old woman from Flushing, NY. She ran Madison Body and Soul, which is located on Waverly Place in Madison, NJ.
According to law enforcement officials, the suspect arranged for female employees to exchange sex for money. Additionally, the suspect reportedly placed advertisements for prostitution on backpage.com
The Madison Police Department received a tip about illegal activity at the massage parlor and started an investigation. Investigators went undercover and eventually got enough evidence to file charges against the suspect and place her under arrest.
During a search of the premises, Madison NJ cops reportedly seized cash, phone records, and customer ledger books.
The suspect faces criminal charges for promoting prostitution in Madison Municipal Court. If she is convicted on the sex crime charges, she could be sentenced to jail time.
