Bribery Charges in Parsippany NJ
Three doctors from New York were recently sentenced to prison time for their involvement in a medical testing scam based out of a lab in Parsippany, New Jersey.
The suspects are a 45-year-old Staten Island, NY man, a 49-year-old Staten Island man, and a 45-year-old Scarsdale, NY man.
All of the suspects have been sentenced to 2-3 years behind bars in a federal penitentiary after pleading guilty to federal bribery charges. The suspects would have faced lengthier terms of incarcerations if they had contested the criminal charges and gone to trial in US District Court in Newark, NJ.
According to law enforcement officials, the suspects, and others, accepted hundreds of thousands of dollars in bribes in exchange for making sure that blood-testing work went to the medical laboratory.
Dozens of other doctors have also been convicted in connection with the medical scam.
