A Mount Olive NJ man pleaded guilty to invasion of privacy charges for secretly filming multiple women while having sex with them.
The suspect is a 29-year-old resident of Mount Olive, New Jersey. He allegedly had sex with 11 adult women and one juvenile female and secretly filmed the sexual encounters on his iPhone. The juvenile victim was a 17-year-old girl.
Since the suspect did not obtain the victims’ consent to film them, he was later investigated and then placed under arrest.
Prosecutors initially charged the suspect with multiple sexual offenses, including several counts of invasion of privacy and child endangerment.
The suspect ultimately avoided trial by reaching a plea deal with the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office. In exchange for the suspect pleading guilty to six counts of invasion of privacy, Morris County NJ prosecutors agreed to dismiss the other sex crime charges against the suspect. Prosecutors also agreed to recommend that the suspect be sentenced to one year in the Morris County Jail and one year of probation.
The suspect will still have to make an appearance in Morris County Superior Court, located in Morristown, so that a judge can approve the plea agreement. The suspect’s formal sentencing hearing will be on February 24, 2017.
