Police in Hackettstown NJ recently arrested a Morristown New Jersey woman who allegedly shoplifted items from a consignment store.
The theft incident went down around 5:44 p.m. at Me to You Consignment and Boutique, which is located Main Street and Route 46 in Hackettstown, New Jersey. According to law enforcement, the suspect entered the Hackettstown store and began to look around at various items.
Store employees reportedly saw the suspect steal several items, including multiple handbags and dresses. The suspect allegedly used a large black handbag to conceal the stolen items and then quickly ran out of the building.
A worker at the store dialed 911 and notified the Hackettstown Police Department. By the time Hackettstown cops arrived at the store, the suspect had already left the building. However, a quick search of the surrounding area led police to a woman who matched the description of the shoplifter. The suspect was sitting in the passenger side of a car parked across the street from the consignment store.
Police officers allegedly recovered two black dresses, a white handbag, a purse, an Under Armour jacket, and a nightgown. The total value of the stolen merchandise is said to be approximately $95.
The suspect is a 34-year-old resident of Morristown, NJ. She faces criminal charges for shoplifting in connection with the alleged theft at the Hackettstown consignment store. Additionally, the suspect has also been charged with another count of shoplifting for allegedly stealing a ceramic butterfly from a hardware store also located on Route 46 in Hackettstown, NJ.
