A Morris County grand jury recently indicted two Morristown NJ men on sexual assault charges.
The suspects are a 36-year-old male and a 50-year-old male. Both men are from Morristown NJ and were accused last year of raping an underage girl. According to authorities, the victim was just nine years old when the suspects sexually assaulted her in 2009.
After Morris County Prosecutor’s Office detectives finished their investigation into the suspects, prosecutors filed numerous criminal charges. The sex crime charges against both suspects included three counts of sexual assault and one count of child endangerment.
Additionally, the 50-year-old suspect was charged with aggravated assault and burglary.
While the criminal charges against the suspects remain pending, the men are being held at the Morris County Jail in Morristown NJ on separate bail amounts of $150,000.
A third suspect in the sexual assault case, a 20-year-old Morristown man, also faced charges for sexually assaulting the juvenile victim. In 2016, the suspect reached a plea deal with prosecutors and pleaded guilty to endangering the welfare of a child. In exchange for his guilty plea, the suspect was sentenced to four years in New Jersey State Prison.
