Montville NJ police are investigating an armed robbery of a gas station in Pine Brook, New Jersey.
A gas station attendant at L&L Auto Repairs called police to report a recent robbery at the station, which is located at 26 Route 46. When officers arrived at the scene, the attendant told them that two men had entered the station and demanded cash.
According to police, one of the intruders took out a handgun and threatened the attendant. After the attendant gave the men an unknown amount of cash, the men fled on a sport motorcycle and headed west on Route 46.
In New Jersey, armed robbery is governed under N.J.S.A. 2C:15-1. According to the statute, robbery is a first degree felony when the actor uses a handgun during the robbery. If the suspects are caught and convicted of first degree armed robbery, they could each be sentenced to up to 20 years in NJ State Prison.
