Police in Morristown NJ recently arrested an illegal immigrant accused of sexually assaulting a young boy.
The suspect is a 30-year-old man who is from Honduras. He was reportedly deported from the US several years ago, only to return back to the country. While living in Morristown, New Jersey, the suspect allegedly committed the sex crime.
According to the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office, the suspect committed the sex crimes between April 2009 and April 2013. The suspect is accused of sexually abusing a boy under the age of 13 on numerous occasions, as well as showing pornography to the boy.
The suspect has been charged with multiple sexual offenses, including aggravated sexual assault, sexual assault, and endangering the welfare of a child.
If the suspect is convicted on the very serious sex crime charges, he would be subject to severe penalties that include a lengthy term of incarceration in New Jersey State Prison. Regardless of the outcome of the case, the suspect is likely to be deported from the United States after his case is resolved.
After being placed under arrest and charged, the suspect was taken to the Morris County Correctional Facility in Morristown, NJ. He was being held at the jail in lieu of a $200K bail amount, with no 10-percent cash option available for posting bail.
