Police are searching for a Wharton NJ man who allegedly stole a car in Victory Gardens, New Jersey. The suspect was already wanted on criminal charges related to an armed robbery in Dover, NJ.
According to law enforcement, the suspect stole a Toyota Camry that was parked on South Salem Street in Victory Gardens, NJ. At the time of the theft, which is said to have been around 3:00 p.m., the vehicle driver was away from the car in order to deliver food.
The suspect is a 30-year-old resident of Wharton, New Jersey. He reportedly goes by the nickname “Swerve.” The New Jersey State Police recently posted images of the suspect on their official Facebook page in the hopes that someone might recognize him and come forward to authorities.
The suspect already has pending criminal charges for aggravated assault, robbery, and burglary. The suspect was recently indicted on the criminal charges in Morris County Superior Court, which is located in Morristown, NJ.
Moreover, the suspect is reportedly an ex-con with a prior criminal record that includes a conviction for robbery. According to authorities, he served several years in prison for a violent theft committed in a Morristown parking lot in 2005.
