Parsippany NJ police are on the lookout for a masked robber who allegedly broke into a hotel room and assaulted the man inside.
Police officers were called to the Sonesta Suites on Interpace Parkway in Parsippany, NJ on a report of a robbery. When the officers arrived at the hotel complex, the victim informed them that a man had forced his way into the room and knocked him to the ground.
According to the victim, the intruder then hit him in the head with a gun and began rummaging through the room for items to steal. The intruder eventually made off with various electronics, including an iPhone, an iPad mini, and a Samsung tablet. The man also allegedly took the victim’s wallet and the $300 in cash it contained.
The victim struggled to describe the intruder because he wore a black ski mask when he forcibly entered the hotel room.
According to police dispatchers, the suspect reportedly fled the scene in a Pontiac Grand Am. Not long after the robbery, Parsippany police officers stopped a vehicle matching the description given to police dispatchers. The vehicle’s three occupants were arrested after police allegedly found them in possession of drugs and weapons, including 108 Oxycodone pills, Xanax, 18 heroin folds, and a semiautomatic weapon. Police said that the suspects also had several cell phones, a Samsung tablet, an iPad mini, and several hundred dollars in cash.
The three suspects were all charged with armed robbery, conspiracy to commit robbery, possession of a controlled dangerous substance, and possession of a firearm for an unlawful purpose.
