Arrests Down at This Year’s Morris County St. Patrick’s Day Parade in Morristown, NJ

Morristown NJ Disorderly Conduct AttorneysMorristown NJ police made 11 arrests during this year’s Morris County St. Patrick’s Day Parade.

The annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade in Morristown, NJ is a major headache for local law enforcement because at least a few people typically get intoxicated and cause trouble. However, police had less issues this year, with fewer people being arrested than usual.

According to authorities, a total of 11 arrests were made between 7:00 a.m. Saturday and 3:00 a.m. Sunday. In 2016, Morristown NJ police made 20 arrests during the parade. In 2015, police arrested 16 people.

The parade attendees placed under arrest this year were charged with various crimes, including simple assault, disorderly conduct, and resisting arrest.

In addition to arresting 11 people, Morristown police officers also issued 13 municipal ordinance violations. To put that number in perspective, police issued 59 summonses last year.

The individuals who were issued local ordinance violations have been accused of drinking in public, urinating in public, and littering.

After the parade, Morristown officials issued a statement thanking everyone for their involvement in the Morris County St. Patrick’s Day Parade.
