New Jersey police made several arrests for prostitution after raiding four businesses in Pequannock, Pompton Plains, and Riverdale.
The raids were conducted at the culmination of a two-month investigation by the Riverdale Police Department and the Lincoln Park Police Department. The local police departments were assisted in the investigation by the federal Department of Homeland Security.
Police conducted the raids and made arrests at Natural and Artificial Care in Pequannock, the GW Center in Pompton Plains, Sun Star Therapy in Pompton Plains, and Riverdale Therapy in Riverdale NJ.
Police made a total of nine arrests. All of the suspects have been charged with prostitution-related offenses.
Three people were arrested at Natural Artificial Care in Pequannock, NJ. The suspects include a 33-year-old female from the Bronx NY, a 43-year-old female from Perth Amboy, and a 51-year-old female from Florida. The three suspects were charged with prostitution and conspiracy to promote prostitution.
Three more people were arrested at the GW Center in Pompton Plains, New Jersey. A 50-year-old woman from Staten Island was placed under arrest and charged with operating a sexually oriented business, promoting prostitution, and conspiracy to commit prostitution. Additionally, police arrested a 26-year-old Brooklyn woman and a 50-year-old Bridgewater NJ woman. Both suspects were charged with prostitution and conspiracy to commit prostitution.
Police arrested just one person at Sun Star Therapy in Pompton Plains: a Lincoln Park NJ woman who was charged with operating a sexually oriented business and prostitution.
Two people were busted for prostitution at Riverdale Therapy in Riverdale NJ: a 42-year-old Queens NY woman and a 57-year-old woman who was allegedly operating the business.
In addition to making the arrests, police also seized approximately $10,000 in cash and two motor vehicles valued at $50,000.
Sometime after being arrested and charged, all of the suspects were released on their own recognizance. They will have to appear in local municipal court at a later date to answer the charges against them.
