Parsippany New Jersey police are searching for a man who allegedly used a knife to commit an assault outside a local bar.
The incident occurred during the early morning hours outside a bar located at 450 North Beverwyck Road in Parsippany-Troy Hills, NJ.
According to officials, the suspect used a box cutter-style knife to slash the victim.
The Parsippany Police Department received a call about the attack. The call came from Morristown law enforcement, who were first alerted after the victim showed up at the Morristown Medical Center. The victim was reportedly suffering from stabbing-related injuries.
Parsippany police officers went to the Morristown hospital and spoke with the victim, as well as multiple witnesses to the attack.
The eyewitnesses reportedly told police that the victim got into an argument with four or five people outside the Mount Holleran Towne Tavern in Parsippany, New Jersey. At some point, the argument escalated and the suspect allegedly used a box cutter to puncture the victim’s lip, as well as to cause bruises and abrasions on the victim’s face.
The victim was able to give police a detailed description of three individuals who were allegedly involved in the physical altercation. One of the men is reportedly bald and clean shaven and stands approximately 5-feet-6-inches tall. A second man is reportedly clean shaven, has a stocky build and brown hair, and stands roughly 5-feet-5-inches tall. A third man involved in the fight reportedly stands 6-feet tall, is unshaven, and was wearing a backwards cap.
If police are ultimately able to identify and locate the individual who committed the attack, he would likely face serious criminal charges for aggravated assault. As set forth by N.J.S.A. 2C:12-1(b), anyone who knowingly causes bodily injury to another person while using a deadly weapon can be charged with a second degree felony.
