Lincoln Park NJ police are investigating a number of recent burglaries that occurred at residences in the borough.
According to law enforcement, three home burglaries were committed shortly after midnight. The suspect allegedly broke into two homes on Algonquin Avenue and another home located on Alleghany Path in Lincoln Park, New Jersey.
After entering the Algonquin Avenue houses through windows, the suspect reportedly stole property and then fled on foot.
The suspect also allegedly got away with valuables after entering the Alleghany Path house. A resident saw the suspect inside the home, prompting the suspect to flee the scene.
Authorities indicated that all three residences were occupied at the times of the break-ins.
Sometime after the first two burglaries, the Lincoln Park Police Department received calls about the thefts. Police later received a report of the third burglary and dispatched officers to the residence.
Witnesses at the third home were able to provide police with a detailed description of the suspect. He has been described as a white male in his 20s and with blonde hair. He reportedly stands 5-feet-10 and wore a black-hooded sweatshirt.
If Lincoln Park investigators can eventually track down and arrest the suspect, he would probably face serious criminal charges for burglary and theft of movable property. As set forth by N.J.S.A. 2C:18-2, burglary is typically classified as a third degree felony and carries a potential prison sentence of 3-5 years in NJ State Prison.
