Police recently arrested a NY man accused of stabbing an employee at a Chinese restaurant in Pequannock, New Jersey.
The violent incident occurred around 9:20 p.m. on Saturday night at Golden China Restaurant, which is located on the Newark-Pompton Turnpike in Pequannock, NJ. The suspect, who works at the restaurant, allegedly used a knife to stab one of his co-workers.
The suspect and the victim reportedly got into a heated argument, with the argument eventually turning violent. According to law enforcement, the suspect grabbed a kitchen knife and stabbed the victim in his abdomen and his arm.
The Pequannock Police Department received a 911 call about the altercation and immediately dispatched police officers to the scene. When Pequannock NJ cops got to the restaurant, they found the victim suffering from stab wounds. The victim was rushed to St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Center in Paterson NJ, where doctors treated him for his injuries. Fortunately, the victim is expected to survive the attack.
Meanwhile, police placed the suspect under arrest without incident.
The suspect, a 23-year-old Brooklyn NY resident, has been charged with multiple crimes, including aggravated assault and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose.
After being arrested and processed, the suspect was released on his own recognizance. He has a pending court date in Morris County Superior Court in Morristown, New Jersey.
