Paterson NJ police recently arrested two people suspected of robbing a man at a Paterson massage parlor.
24-year-old Mark Perrone and 36-year-old Dana Arevalo are accused of robbing a 44-year-old Morris County man of his cash and credit cards.
According to police, the victim responded to a Craigslist advertisement. The victim showed up at a house on Katz Avenue, where he was expecting to receive a massage. Instead, he was robbed by two people.
Perrone and Arevalo were charged with robbery and criminal restraint. Peronne has also been charged with a weapons offense.
In New Jersey, robbery is addressed by N.J.S.A. 2C:15-1. According to the statute, robbery is generally classified as a second degree criminal offense. This means that if Perrone and Arevalo are convicted of second degree robbery, they could each face up to 10 years in NJ State Prison.
Paterson police have indicated that they believe there may be other victims who are afraid to come forward out of fear of embarrassment.
