Parsippany NJ police are searching for a man suspected of breaking into three cars parked outside three different daycare centers.
All of the thefts reportedly occurred during a single day at three daycare centers: the Learning Experience on Parsippany Boulevard, Bright Horizons on Dryden Way, and Apple Montessori on Littleton Road. In two cases, the suspect reportedly gained access to the cars because the drivers did not lock the doors. In the third case, the suspect allegedly smashed the driver’s side window in order to get inside the vehicle.
Once inside the cars, the suspect reportedly stole designer purses. Additionally, one of the victims reported that her iPad and Kindle Fire were taken.
The suspect committed the thefts while the owners were dropping off their children at the daycare centers.
Investigators are currently following up on leads in the case. At this time, police do not have a description of the suspect.
It is believed that the suspect might have been driving a dark blue minivan on the day of the thefts. According to Parsippany police, the vehicle could be registered out of New York. Police do not yet know the model of the vehicle.
If investigators are eventually able to identify and locate the suspect, they could be subject to criminal charges for burglary and theft of movable property.
The Parsippany Police Department is asking that anyone who has information about the alleged thefts please call investigators at 973-263-4311.
