Parsippany NJ police were investigating the theft of wheels off several 2014 Honda Accords.
Police officers were called to a residence on Reservoir Road after receiving a report of stolen wheels. A short time later, they received another report of the same thing happening at the Troy Hills Village Apartments.
While the Parsippany Police Department Investigative Division continued the investigation into the stolen wheels, police received yet another report of wheels being stolen from a 2014 Accord at the Partridge Run Apartments.
In New Jersey, stealing the wheels off cars is a very serious offense. As set forth by N.J.S.A. 2C:20-3, theft of movable property is classified as a third degree felony if the value of the property taken is greater than $500. A conviction for third degree theft of movable property can subject an offender to a term of imprisonment of between three and five years in New Jersey State Prison.
Parsippany police have asked that anyone with information about any of these incidents get in touch with officers at 973-263-4341. Police are also interested in any reports of suspicious activity or the use of power tools near the apartment complexes around the time of the thefts.
