Police recently arrested a man accused of committing an armed robbery at a parking garage in Morristown, New Jersey.
According to officials, the 43-year-old suspect robbed a parking garage employee at the Morristown Medical Center on May 18, 2014. The medical facility is located on Madison Avenue.
The suspect, who is from Orange New Jersey, allegedly approached the parking lot worker. The suspect reportedly flashed a handgun as he demanded that the worker hand over cash.
After getting an undisclosed amount of money, the suspect ran away and fled the scene on foot.
Authorities investigated the theft incident and eventually secured a warrant for the suspect’s arrest.
It took a while, but law enforcement eventually found the suspect in East Orange, NJ. He was placed under arrest without further incident.
The suspect has been charged with a number of criminal offenses, including robbery, unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, and a certain persons offense for being a felon in possession of a handgun.
After being arrested and processed, the suspect was taken to the Morris County Jail in Morristown, NJ. He was being held at the jail in lieu of $250,000 bail.
