A man is being sought by Morris Township police after allegedly trying to inappropriately touch a teenage girl and then shoving the girl’s mother to the ground.
According to authorities, the incident occurred on Martin Luther King Avenue near Pollos Pucular in Morris Township, NJ. The man reportedly asked the teenager if he could walk her home. When she declined, the man allegedly attempted to “touch and grab” the girl.
The girl’s mother intervened, which apparently prompted the suspect to push her to the pavement.
Afterwards, the suspect allegedly fled the scene by running south toward Morristown.
Officials have described the suspect as a black male in his late 20s or early 30s, standing roughly 5 feet 9 inches tall. He wore a gray hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans, and sneakers on the date of the incident.
If the suspect is apprehended, he could face serious charges of criminal sexual contact and aggravated assault.
Police have asked for the public’s assistance in tracking down the suspect. Anyone with information about the suspect or the incident is asked to contact Morris County CrimeStoppers at 973-COP-CALL.
