Hanover Township police arrested a man who allegedly shot a person at a motel in Whippany NJ.
The shooting reportedly occurred at the Econo Lodge located on Route 10 in Whippany, NJ. Whippany is a community in Hanover Township, New Jersey.
According to officials, the 23-year-old suspect opened fire on someone at the motel. The suspect then reportedly fled the area.
The victim suffered a gunshot wound as a result of the shooting. He was transported to a nearby hospital, where he received medical treatment for his injuries. Thankfully, the victim survived the shooting.
Several police agencies collaborated on an investigation into the incident.
Police searched the area for the suspect, but they were unable to find him in Hanover Township. Authorities eventually apprehended the suspect in Brooklyn, New York.
Police also arrested a 24-year-old woman in connection with the shooting. The female suspect is from Paterson, NJ.
The main suspect, who is from Boonton Township NJ, has been charged with attempted murder, unlawful possession of a weapon, and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose.
According to police, the suspect has a prior criminal history which includes an arrest for cocaine distribution and heroin distribution.
The female suspect in the recent shooting case has been charged with endangering the welfare of a child and hindering apprehension.
Both suspects are currently being held in custody by the New York Police Department. The suspects will eventually be extradited to Morris County, New Jersey.
