A Union City NJ man has been accused of assaulting two police officers in Madison, New Jersey.
The incident reportedly occurred near the intersection of Main Street and Greenwood Avenue in Madison NJ around 8:35 a.m. The Madison Police Department dispatched police officers to the area after receiving a report of an assault. When the Madison cops got to the scene, they found the victim.
The victim told police that the suspect got out of a white box truck, walked up to the victim, and knocked him to the ground. The victim suffered head and neck injuries as a result of the alleged attack.
A witness was able to provide cops with the suspect’s license plate number. Police officers soon located the truck and the suspect. While the suspect was being questioned by the Madison NJ cops, he allegedly became agitated and began to punch the police officers. The suspect allegedly used a closed fist to strike the officers.
A struggle ensued, with the Madison police officers eventually subduing the suspect and placing him under arrest.
The suspect is a 27-year-old man who lives in Union City, New Jersey. He faces multiple criminal charges, including aggravated assault on a police officer, simple assault, and resisting arrest.
