Roxbury NJ police arrested a Lake Hopatcong man who allegedly assaulted two men and stole a laptop computer.
Roxbury Township police received a call about a disturbance at the Roxbury Motel located on Route 46. When police officers got to the scene, the two victims said that the 26-year-old suspect had assaulted and robbed them.
The two victims, who are friends, told police that the suspect knocked on the door to their motel room and insisted that he needed to speak with them about something.
The moment they opened the door, the suspect allegedly punched the victims in the face. He then allegedly took a laptop computer.
Prior to leaving the motel room, the suspect reportedly threatened the victims with a knife.
After speaking with the victims, Roxbury police issued a warrant for the suspect’s arrest.
During the subsequent investigation, police learned that the suspect’s father lives in Jefferson, New Jersey. So Roxbury police notified the Jefferson Police Department to be on the lookout for the suspect. Jefferson police later located the suspect at his father’s home.
Police placed the suspect under arrest. He has been charged with several criminal offenses, including robbery, terroristic threats, unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, and hindering apprehension.
After being arrested and charged, the suspect was taken to the Morris County Correctional Facility in Morristown, New Jersey. He is being held at the jail on a $100,000 bail amount.
