Kinnelon NJ police recently arrested the main suspect in a string of local burglaries.
The 25-year-old suspect, who resides in Wayne NJ, allegedly broke into several area homes and stole money and jewelry. According to authorities, the suspect was able to enter the homes through rear doors and windows.
The thefts reportedly took place in the East Lake and Fayson Lakes sections of Kinnelon.
Police also believe that the suspect burglarized a Wayne NJ home earlier this year.
Several law enforcement agencies, including the Kinnelon Police Department, the Pequannock Police Department, and the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office, collaborated on the subsequent investigation.
The suspect has been charged with burglary, theft of movable property, receiving stolen property, and criminal mischief. He also faces a couple of drug charges, including possession of heroin and possession of drug paraphernalia.
If the suspect is convicted of the burglaries, he could end up spending a very long time behind bars. As set forth by N.J.S.A. 2C:18-2, burglary is a third degree felony. This means the suspect could be sentenced to 3–5 years in NJ State Prison for each robbery count.
After being arrested, the suspect was transported to the Morris County Correctional Facility in Morristown, where he was being held on $75,000 bail.
