A Florham Park NJ man has been charged with committing sex crimes after authorities accused him of producing child pornography while working at a summer camp.
The suspect is a 30-year-old male who lives in Florham Park, New Jersey. According to law enforcement, the suspect engaged in the illegal conduct while working at a summer camp for boys in Hardwick, NJ.
The suspect also used to be employed at parochial schools located in Boonton NJ and Stirling NJ. However, he has not been accused of committing any illegal activity while working for those schools.
Federal prosecutors said that the suspect sent hundreds of pornographic images to a 16-year-old boy who he met at the Harding summer camp. One of those illicit sexual photos was reportedly an image of a different underage child the suspect met at the camp.
Federal officials with the US Immigration and Customs Enforcement Homeland Security Investigations conducted an investigation into the sex crime allegations. Federal agents eventually placed the suspect under arrest at his home in Florham Park NJ.
The suspect now faces federal charges for numerous sexual offenses, including producing child pornography, distribution of child pornography, and enticing a minor to engage in criminal sexual activity.
If the suspect is convicted on the child pornography production charges, he could be sentenced to 15-30 years in federal prison.
After being arrested and processed, the suspect was taken before a U.S. magistrate judge for a bail hearing. The judge ordered the suspect held without bail.
While the charges remain pending against the suspect, he has been suspended from his position at the Glenwood Pochuck Volunteer Ambulance Corps.
