A driver was allegedly drunk when he crashed into several cars and a curb at the intersection of Spring Street and Morris Street in Morristown, New Jersey.
According to police, Miguel Angel Granados-Umana was driving a gray Acura RL sedan when he struck three cars and then tried to flee the scene. Police said that when Mr. Granados-Umana attempted to flee, he crashed into a curb on the other side of the street.
According to a police report, a driver from one of the damaged cars ran on foot after Mr. Granados-Umana and physically prevented him from leaving the scene.
Sometime later, police responded to the scene and believed that they smelled alcohol on Mr. Granados-Umana’s breath.
According to police, Mr. Granados-Umana admitted to officers that he had been drinking alcohol earlier in the evening. The police report states that Mr. Granados-Umana asked officers, “Did I kill anyone?”
The vehicle that Mr. Granados-Umana was driving at the time of the accident had been reported stolen from Rony’s Automotive shop on Spring Street.
Mr. Granados-Umana was charged with driving while intoxicated (DWI), assault by auto, theft of movable property, and reckless driving.
