Mount Olive NJ police recently arrested a local man who allegedly had a large quantity of heroin in his possession.
According to law enforcement, Mount Olive police officers were on patrol on Route 46 when they heard a loud muffler sound coming from a blue Toyota. The patrol cops then reportedly noticed that the vehicle failed to stop for another car, so they pulled over the driver.
Police reportedly felt that the suspect was nervous and that he was providing conflicting statements, so they asked him to get out of his car.
A subsequent search of the suspect’s Toyota allegedly turned up two bricks of heroin, as well as a tin foil that was shaped like a spoon. Police also reportedly found a large amount of money in the motor vehicle.
The suspect was then placed under arrest and taken to Mount Olive police headquarters for processing.
The 40-year-old suspect resides in Budd Lake, an unincorporated community located within Mount Olive, New Jersey. He has been charged with heroin possession and possession of drug paraphernalia.
After being arrested and processed, the suspect was released from police custody on his own recognizance.
