Bloomingdale NJ police are searching for two suspects who allegedly used ATM skimmers to steal cash from a local bank around Christmas.
According to law enforcement, the suspects installed ATM skimming devices on the ATMs at Lakeland Bank in Bloomingdale, New Jersey. The skimmers were reportedly used for three days, from December 23 to December 26.
Several people noticed that there were unauthorized cash withdrawals on their bank statements, so they contacted local police.
Bloomingdale police investigated the alleged thefts and learned that similar theft incidents had been reported at other banks in Lincoln Park and Jefferson Township, NJ. In fact, at least 20 people with accounts at the Jefferson NJ bank allegedly had their money stolen by the suspects.
Bloomingdale NJ detectives obtained video surveillance footage that allegedly captured images of the suspects as they were installing the ATM skimmers.The Bloomingdale Police Department and the Jefferson Township Police Department released the suspects’ images on their respective Facebook pages. The hope is that members of the public will recognize the suspects and notify authorities.
