A Roxbury NJ man was recently indicted on charges of robbing three local businesses in the span of four days.
All of the alleged robberies occurred on Route 10 in Roxbury, New Jersey.
The 23-year-old suspect, who lives in the Succasunna section of Roxbury Township, allegedly walked into the Harmon Discount Store on Route 10 last March. Once inside the store, the suspect allegedly handed the cashier a note which demanded money.
When the cashier refused to hand over any cash to the suspect, the suspect reportedly ran out of the store and fled the scene on foot.
A few days later, the suspect allegedly rode his bicycle to the Fuel 10 gas station on Route 10. The suspect then allegedly brandished a knife and tried to get cash from the gas station attendant.
When the suspect was unable to gain access to the attendant’s booth at the station, he reportedly hopped back onto his bike and fled the scene.
The next day, the suspect allegedly walked into a Wells Fargo Bank located on Route 10 and handed the teller a note demanding money. According to police, the note also indicated that the suspect was armed.
This time, the suspect reportedly got what he was looking for; the teller gave him $1,065 in cash. After getting the money, the suspect allegedly exited the bank and fled the area on foot.
Roxbury NJ police investigated the Wells Fargo robbery and looked at video surveillance footage of the alleged theft. The next day, police released surveillance images of the suspect to local media outlets. The suspect was soon identified and apprehended.
Now the suspect has been formally indicted on a number of charges stemming from the incidents. According to a joint announcement made by the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office and the Roxbury Township Police Department, the suspect was indicted on two counts of first degree armed robbery, one count of second degree robbery, and one count of fourth degree resisting arrest. The suspect was also indicted on a couple of weapons offenses, including one count of third degree possession of a knife for an unlawful purpose and one count of fourth degree unlawful possession of a knife.
