Police believe that three residential burglaries in Parsippany NJ may be related.
Earlier this week, Parsippany police officers responded to a home on Littleton Road. The homeowner reported that he had returned from a trip to the store and found his front door open. The homeowner said that jewelry and personal documents had been taken from his bedroom.
Later that same day, another Parsippany police officer responded to a Philip Drive residence, where a burglar alarm at the home had been activated. When the police officer arrived at the scene, he found that the front door had been forced open and that the deadbolt lock had been broken. However, when officers searched the inside of the home, they did not find any suspects.
That evening, Parsippany police responded to a report of a burglary at an Alan Drive home. The resident told police that the home’s rear door had been forced open and the bedrooms had been ransacked. No items were reported missing at the time.
In New Jersey, burglary is governed under N.J.S.A. 2C:18-2. Burglary is typically classified as a third degree felony. In these cases, if the suspect is caught and convicted of third degree burglary, he could be sentenced to up to five (5) years in NJ State Prison.
Parsippany police are asking that anyone with information about the burglaries contact them at 973-263-4300.
